One really important thing I've learned about new beginnings, whether it's opening that new chapter of your life, bringing to a close that meaningful and lengthy project you've just accomplished, or finishing up a contract at a job, it's that taking a chance is OK. Why rush into something you are unsure of or make a bad impression because you didn't take the time to think? It's OK to think 'everything will be okay' or 'what's meant to be, is meant to be'. I actually really believe in it, the idea of fate and that everything happens for a reason, but it's definitely not something to over analyze. Believe that everything will work out the way it is suppose to and be proactive to make sure you are satisfied and excited about what that new opportunity may be. Don't over think the little things that happen to you in a day, notice the things that make an impact like when you think about someone and they just happen to call you that second, or when an incredible opportunity comes along and life is just telling you to take it. Every time a window closes, a door opens. Be positive. And don't read your horoscope before an interview!
When you reach that fork in the road, go the direction your gut is telling you. My mother always says 'everything will work out in the end'. I believe her, but I also need to take initiative to make sure I'm heading where I want to go. Things do happen for a reason but you need to be able to grasp and investigate them properly. Yes, sometimes you take a chance and it ends horribly but if you hadn't taken that chance, would you have learned what you did? Every risk taken is an opportunity for growth. Learn to not let life get the best of you. Unfortunately, it is something I struggle with. I like to think I have a care free spirit and I like to let things run their natural course, but I still need that sense of control (I am in the hospitality industry after all - we all have OCD and are control freaks). It's easy to jump to conclusions and take the steering wheel, it's also easy to just coast along, but it takes strength, patience, and ambition for positivity and opportunities to come your way.
Again, it's OK to take a chance. Just be confident in your decision and construct the road ahead of you. When you come to that fork in the road, just because you initially chose left, doesn't mean you need to stay on the path.
